I'M HAVIN A REAL GOOD DAY
EVERYTHING'S GOIN' MY WAY
I THINK I JUST MIGHT, I THINK I JUST
MAY,
BE HAVIN' A REAL GOOD DAY
I'M READY TO HAVE SOME FUN
I'M READY TO GET THINGS DONE,
AND THE BEST THING ABOUT IT IS,
I'VE JUST BEGUN,
HAVIN' A REAL GOOD DAY,
So why should I worry?
Why should I fret?
And why should I hurry?
Cause life is for livin.
And I ain't done yet
I'M HAVIN A REAL REALLY GOOD TIME
CHASIN' THE CLOUDS FROM MY MIND
AND NOW I CAN SEE MYSELF STANDIN'
IN THE BRIGHT SUNSHINE
OF THIS REAL GOOD DAY
AHH...REALLY GOOD DAY, AHH...REALLY
GOOD DAY,
YES SIR!
AHH...REALLY GOOD DAY, AHH...REALLY
GOOD DAY,
So why should you worry? (why should I
worry)
And why should you fret? (why should I
fret)
And why should I hurry?
I'm livin' my life
and I ain't done yet ! (uh-huh)
I'M HAVIN A REAL GOOD DAY
AND EVERYTHING IS GOIN' MY WAY
YA KNOW, I THINK I JUST MIGHT, I
THINK I JUST MAY,
BE HAVIN' A REAL GOOD DAY
BE HAVIN' A REAL GOOD DAY
YES, I JUST MIGHT BE HAVIN'
A REALLY GOOD DAY!

This song was inspired by my brother Donald.
He was being treated for cancer, and I called him from out on the road to see how he was doing.
He sounded so upbeat and positive, even though his condition was terminal.
I asked him how he was doing. He said, "I'm having a real good day."
I remember thinking, "If this guy can be that pleasant and nice, with all that he is going through,
what in the world do I have to complain about?"
The lesson I learned from him: Take a good look at your life, count your many blessings.
As I say in the song, "Life is for living and I ain't done yet."
