Time Square - words & music by Kenny Hogan
He stands looking down,
at a multi-colored dream,
in the deep neon canyons,
and yellow fishes in a stream,
As time freezes there, in Times Square,
There's a man in the alley-way,
Holding out his hand,
There's a hole in the ground today,
Where the towers used to stand,
And time freezes there, in Times Square,
And time freezes there, in Times Square,
kids in bed with sleepy heads, watch the sun go down,
while soldiers kill on distant hills and die without a sound,
and the world goes round,
and the world goes around...
There's a statue of a lady,
with her torch held to the sky,
There's an old man moving backwards through his mind,
with a teardrop in his eye,
As time freezes there, in Times Square,
As time freezes there, in Times Square,
And the old man remembers,
How the sun was shining down,
On a clear day in September,
When the walls came tumbling down,
and the world goes round,
and the world goes around...
And he stands looking down,
at a multi-colored dream,
deep neon canyons,
and yellow fishes in a stream,
and life is but a dream...
Life is but a dream...
Life is but a dream...
Life is but a dream...
And time freezes there, in time square.
Last year I visited ground zero.
I can't really describe how that made me feel.
I went back to my hotel room in Time Square and wrote this song,
looking down at the traffic, thinking about all those lives...
